Cardiac MRI
Cardiac MRI Reporting
Oxcardio is a UK-based cardiac MRI tele-reporting service. Our Level 3 certified specialists provide comprehensive cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) reporting across the full spectrum of cardiac pathology — trained at Oxford and London, accredited by SCMR, EACVI and BSCI. CMR is the gold standard for myocardial tissue characterisation and structural assessment, and we deliver that expertise directly to your institution.
Reports are structured to international standards and delivered within 24 hours of scan completion.
- Ventricular function & volumes (biventricular)
- Late gadolinium enhancement & myocardial viability
- Stress perfusion & ischaemia assessment
- Cardiomyopathy evaluation (HCM, DCM, ARVC, infiltrative)
- Myocarditis & inflammatory cardiomyopathy
- Cardiac masses & pericardial disease
- Congenital heart disease
- Aortic & great vessel assessment
- Flow quantification & 4D flow
Cardiac CT
Cardiac CT Reporting
Our specialists hold Level 3 certification in cardiac CT and provide expert reporting across all cardiac CT indications. With coronary artery disease a leading cause of morbidity across our target regions, accurate CTCA interpretation is critical — and that is our speciality.
We apply the latest international guidelines (SCCT, ESC, ACC/AHA) in all reports.
- CT coronary angiography (CTCA) & CAD-RADS reporting
- Coronary artery calcium scoring (Agatston)
- Coronary anomaly assessment
- Structural heart: aortic valve, mitral, TAVI planning
- Pre-ablation pulmonary vein CT
- Left atrial appendage assessment
- Aortic root & thoracic aorta
- Pericardial assessment
Expert Second Opinion
Independent subspecialist review
When a cardiac imaging report raises uncertainty — an atypical pattern, a rare cardiomyopathy, a finding that changes management — a second opinion from a Level 3 accredited specialist can be decisive. Oxcardio offers formal independent review of CMR and cardiac CT studies, delivered with the same rigour as a primary report.
Referrals come directly from cardiologists, radiologists and cardiac centres who want subspecialist input without the delays of an in-person tertiary referral. Images are transferred via our secure DICOM pathway and a structured written opinion is returned within 24–48 hours.
- Complex or atypical cardiomyopathy (HCM, DCM, ARVC, infiltrative)
- Uncertain myocarditis or inflammatory pattern
- Ambiguous viability or ischaemia findings
- Rare congenital or structural abnormalities
- Pre-surgical or pre-procedural case review
- Discordant clinical and imaging findings
- Peer review for quality assurance programmes
How it works
Seamless Workflow Integration
We handle the full technical onboarding so your team can focus on patient care — not IT complexity.
DICOM Routing
Secure, encrypted DICOM transfer directly from your scanner or PACS to our reporting workstations. Zero disruption to your existing radiology workflow.
Secure VPN Setup
End-to-end encrypted connections between your facility and our systems. Full compliance with data protection requirements. Patient data never leaves a protected channel.
PACS Compatibility
Reports delivered directly into your existing PACS or RIS. Structured, structured XML/HL7 report delivery available. Compatible with all major PACS vendors.
24-Hour Turnaround
Reports delivered within 24 hours of scan receipt for routine cases. Urgent and semi-urgent pathways available. Consistent, reliable reporting you can plan around.
Dedicated Support
A named contact for your institution throughout onboarding and beyond. Direct communication with your reporting cardiologist — not a call centre.
Structured Reporting
All reports follow international templates (CMR Society, SCCT standards). Quantitative data, measurements and clinical recommendations presented in a clear, consistent format.
Training & Education
Image Acquisition Training & Protocol Development
The diagnostic quality of a cardiac scan is determined long before it reaches the reporting desk. Poor protocol design, inadequate radiographer preparation, or unfamiliarity with cardiac-specific sequences results in non-diagnostic studies, repeat scans, and avoidable clinical delay.
Oxcardio provides specialist training for cardiac radiographers in CMR and cardiac CT image acquisition — delivered in person or remotely — alongside bespoke protocol development tailored to your scanner, patient mix and referral patterns.
- CMR acquisition training to SCMR standard — in-person and remote
- Cardiac CT acquisition and workflow training
- Bespoke protocol development for CMR and CT
- Scanner-specific optimisation and sequence selection
- Reduction of incomplete, artefact-affected and non-diagnostic studies
- Ongoing protocol review and quality assurance support
